How To: Instagram Photodump

The essential photos and videos to include in your next photodump

Photodumps have become a very popular way to share your most recent captured moments on your social media. The beauty of photodumps is that they can be as random and in the moment, or as 'aesthetic' as you see fit, all while giving others that inside look into the smaller moments of your life. Even though there will be many different kinds of photos, I'll usually caption my dumps with emojis or something about where I travelled, like 'postcards from Charleston' or 'rhode island so far'. Here are my recommendations for the kinds of photos you can include to curate your next photodump.

1. Outfit Pic

I like to make my 'fit pics' the cover slide of my dumps. You can definitely play around with the kind of angles you take the pics from, and close-up details of your outfit.

2. Scenic Views

Include any sunsets, pics from your travels to a new place, or any scenery you captured and love.

3. BeReal

BeReals are a fun way to capture more of the realistic moments, especially because of the spontaneity of the app, and will definitely add variety to your dump.

4. Food

Include any good eats/sweet treats- this avocado toast was sooo good, so of course I had to take a pic.

5. Your Fav People/Group Pic

Adding a pic of you and your besties is a no brainer for dumps, so include any pics that are as 'crazy' or 'put together' as you see fit.

6. Mirror Selfie

Include any mirror selfies for a cool new angle; these are also a good way to show off your outfit.

7. Screenshot

Any screenshots of texts, social media, songs you're currently listening to, or silly/random photos are a good way to spice up your dump and add more of a funny flare.

8. Personality Pic

Adding a 'personality pic' is a fun way to show a more candid side of yourself, and will enhance the 'fun' feel of your post.
